Upcoming August PilatesxCarly Sessions
Friends and neighbors-
Thank you so much for your interest in taking a Pilates session with me! I am so excited to work with you and hope you fall in love with Pilates as much as I have.

FAQ:
WHAT TO EXPECT: While there are now many contemporary variations, I specialize in classical Pilates that follows the foundational Contrology principles developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. It is a holistic mind-body practice that focuses on precise, controlled movements, choreographed sequences, and integrated breathing that target the body’s core to improve posture, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
Try to arrive for your appointment 10 minutes in advance. Upon arrival to the Core Pilates NYC studio, you will be asked to sign a liability waiver. After a brief assessment, I will guide you through a tailored 55-minute program that may encompass safely using apparatus including reformer, mat, tower, chair, Cadillac, or any combination of the aforementioned. If you’re comfortable, hands on cues may be used to ensure you’re maintaining correct posture for each exercise.
Some clients may experience a little soreness for a day or two after their session from working new muscles that are rarely used. It’s perfectly normal and can be relieved with an Epson salt bath, topicals, and light stretching. As a general rule, if it doesn’t feel good while you’re trying out an exercise, don’t do it! Everything is modifiable!
WHAT TO WEAR: Form-fitting athletic wear is helpful so that I can have a clearer view as you engage muscles, but it’s not required. Non-slip Pilates/yoga grip socks are also preferred, which you can buy a pack here or individually at the Core studio.
CANCELLATIONS: Should you need to cancel or modify your appointment, please provide a minimum of 12 hours notice as a courtesy to me and the other teachers so that I can offer the session to someone else.
INJURIES, LIMITATIONS & SPECIAL NEEDS: Pilates is a fabulous low impact form of exercise that is infinitely modifiable for individuals of all strengths and sizes, and excellent for recovery. Please notify me in advance of any injuries so I can tailor your session accordingly! As mentioned above, if it doesn’t feel good, don’t do it! There’s always a way to simplify exercises or make them more challenging without compromising safety, but what I don’t know, I can’t help!
REFERRALS: Have a friend, partner, or family member you think would love to try Pilates? Have them send me a message at pilatesxcarly@gmail.com.
HELP! YOU DIDN’T ANSWER MY QUESTION: Drop me an email at pilatesxcarly@gmail.com and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
